About The School

Overview of the School of Financial Management Studies (SFMS) Welcome to the School of Financial Management Studies, a school with a difference! The School is one of the six (6) core schools created by the institution for attainment of her core values of teaching, impacting with skills acquisition and facilitating the highest level of intellectual development through modern scientific methods. It was carved out of the existing School of Business and Management Studies (SFMS) in the year 2020. The School operates a vibrant School Board of Studies which has harnessed collective efforts in ensuring academic excellence through effective curricular delivery, conducive learning environment for students and promotion of entrepreneurial based learning. Currently, the School has three (3) departments, comprising of Accountancy, Taxation and Banking & Finance. The departments run both National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) programmes that are accredited by relevant regulatory and professional bodies such as the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) and the prestigious Institute of Chartered Accountant of Nigeria (ICAN). The School also enjoys a robust and thriving relationship with the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN) and the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN). These bodies have consistently provided the School with a boost of seasoned academic staff with relevant and good academic degrees as well as professional qualifications both locally and globally for delivery of the curricular. Furthermore, the proximity of the Institute to international borders has given access to local and international students’ base for enrolment into the programmes. Our alumnus feedback from employers of labour points to the fact that, our diplomates are contributing positively to attainment of corporate goals in their various fields of endeavour. Future outlook posits that our school will continue to contribute meaningfully to building of an efficient, effective and technological driven goals for sustainable development.
